OOC: Nine Things about the Aes Sedai

blue_ajahAlthough I understand her very well, it was very hard to write some of this out because Moiraine? Is secretive. Boy, is she ever. Anyway, for your information -- here are some things about the Aes Sedai. (Ask questions in the comments if you want, and I'll elaborate on any given point, etc.)
* When Moiraine first arrived at the bar, all of her immediate effort was bent on getting back to her world and the war there. That's not the case now -- the two obvious reasons are one, that Rand asked her to stay, and two, well, Dream, of course. The slightly less obvious reason, however, is that she doesn't think she has a place in her own world any more-- in some ways she never did-- and she thinks of Milliways and the Dreaming as home.
* The above is part of the reason she was able to bring herself to ask Death to take her from the Wheel and bring her back to Milliways (and to Dream) after she dies. What nobody may realize -- except maybe Dream, who can probably pick up some of it through the Warder bond -- is that this terrifies her. Absolutely terrifies her, almost beyond words.
* She once told Lan that she was "as hard as she had to be." She's often been thought of as cold and unfeeling. This is not true. She feels, but she won't show it more than she can help, and she'll do what she believes has to be done, no matter the price to herself or to most others. As such, she has the capability to be a lot more ruthless than people seem to think. She's just not had reason to be like that at Milliways. This is rather a relief to her, because she doesn't want to be. This isn't to say that she won't be, however, if it becomes necessary. Really, really necessary.
* Moiraine doesn't forget anything, and she can wait forever to use the information she has. It's all part of Daes Dae'mar.
* She has more friends at the bar than she has back in her world-- some of them very close. This remains a surprise to her, and she worries sometimes about whether or not it's affected her ability to remain detached where the Dragon Reborn and her cause are concerned. She trusts a lot fewer people than others might think, though.
* She's pinned a lot of hope on the possibility that Roland might be able to help Rand with Lews Therin in the same way he helped her with Meara. It's the hope for her entire world, you might even say.
* Moiraine loves Dream. Everyone knows this. What not everyone knows is that this extends to all aspects of Dream, in one way or another.
* Due to certain visions, she also knows that she was meant to marry someone else, and she knows who that is, too. She hasn't figured out why, though, or what to do about it now.
* Although she's never said anything about it, it bothers her greatly that the Tower of Ghenjei, the Aelfinn, and the Eelfinn were all destroyed. She thinks that leaves an empty space in the Pattern... and where something's empty, something else must needs fill it. She's got a very deep-lying suspicion of what that might be, too... and she doesn't like it at all.
