Merriman nods, quiet but resolute. 'Then we may set that aspect aside for the present, and turn to related matters.'

He finishes the last of the tea in his cup, setting it back on the saucer.

'As best I can determine,' he continues, 'the magic of the land will react to Bran Davies in much the same way as it would to my lord Arthur. Those of the Circle will work to keep that magic within manageable levels, particularly during the initial period in which his body and mind will need to adjust to its presence. With any luck, there is very little that he will actually have to do...he will simply have to be.'

At least, that is what Merriman sincerely hopes.
